Where is the school? Is there housing available for expat teachers?

The Microschool currently operates in a separate second-floor unit of a TeachBeyond missionary family’s home in Sanguéra. Adequate housing near the school will be arranged for the Lead Teacher; accommodation may also be available within the school unit if preferred.

What is Togo like? What language do I need?

Togo is a developing country with both significant physical and spiritual needs. The climate is generally hot and humid, and daily life may involve adjusting to dust, limited infrastructure, and other challenges typical of a developing context. The Microschool is located in Sanguera, a developing and relatively quiet area on the outskirts of Lomé, Togo’s capital city. Although Togo is an underdeveloped country, Lomé offers many amenities. The official language of Togo is French, and more than 45 local languages are spoken throughout the country. While French proficiency is ideal, it is not required—language learning opportunities will be arranged for non-French-speaking staff.
