From Shoemaker to College Founder: William Carey in India | Calling Story from History with Dr. Michael Haykin (Ep. 229)

Long before people called him the father of modern missions, William Carey was a shoemaker's apprentice in a small English village with about a sixth-grade education. Professor and historian Dr. Michael Haykin traces the stories of Carey's calling to India - the counterfeit Christmas coin that led to his conversion, the influence of other missionaries, the friendships formed along the way, and the legacy of Serampore College. Listen in to hear about education as missions throughout the centuries.
